We look to our closest relationships for safety, belonging and connection. When a relationship becomes painful, you may still love your partner and hope that things can change. Alongside that hope, you may be unsure whether you want to stay. You may be trying to understand what could realistically change between you, and whether those changes would be enough for you to want a future together.

After separation, you may miss someone without wanting the relationship back, or be facing an ending you did not choose. There may be contact to negotiate, responsibilities to share, and days to get through without the routines you once relied on.

I created Anxiety Master to help you make sense of these experiences and consider how to respond. Drawing on more than ten years of therapeutic work with relationships, the articles and guides explore what happens between people, why certain difficulties keep returning, and what may help when a relationship’s future is uncertain or it has ended.

You do not need to have everything worked out before you begin. Start with whichever feels closest to your situation today.

## Two places to begin

- [ In a relationship For understanding what is happening between you, how it is affecting you, and whether things can change. → ](https://www.anxietymaster.org/in-a-relationship/)
- [ After a relationship ends For finding your footing after separation, from difficult feelings to the practical demands of daily life. → ](https://www.anxietymaster.org/after-relationship-ends/)

I want to help you understand what is happening, give difficult decisions the attention they deserve, and find a next step that makes sense for you.

Best wishes,
Dominic
