1:1 Counselling & Coaching with Dominic
Dominic Decker: British-registered Teacher & Psychotherapist

If you’d like us to explore working together and want a clearer sense of who I am and how I work, you’re in the right place.

About me

A qualified teacher and British-registered psychotherapist, I’ve supported individuals and families since 2001 across social, educational and therapeutic settings. Based in Berlin and available online, I offer counselling that helps people feel steadier, think clearly and make sense of events so they can move forward with self-assurance.

My aim is to help you regain enough clarity and emotional composure to make decisions that respect both your needs and your limits. Most people feel some relief once the situation is clearly named.

Mental clarity is upstream from emotional calm. We work in that order and at your pace.

My offer: alongside the resources on this site, I take on a small number of online 1:1 and relationship counselling clients when I can.

At its best, counselling is not direct instruction, though guidance is helpful. It’s more like borrowing a brain for a short while. With restored capacity, you can view your situation with calm distance, careful reasoning and a level of clarity that is often difficult to access alone. It is similar to bringing something valuable for careful repair: you want someone who handles your wellbeing with craft, steadiness and respect.

People usually contact me when they feel stuck — in a relationship, at work or within themselves. You don’t need to arrive with the right words. We look at what’s happening together, clarify what needs to shift and work with the emotions that surface along the way. The process is steady, collaborative and shaped around you, not the problem.

The writing on this site reflects the same approach: measured, practical and forward-looking.

If you’re considering reaching out, you’re welcome to start the conversation whenever you’re ready (via the contact form below).
